Georges Braque Aves

In his later years, Georges Braque found new poetry in the image of the bird — a symbol of freedom, serenity, and transcendence. After decades of exploring structure through Cubism, Braque turned to flight and light, painting birds as emblems of the soul and artistic creation. His monumental ceiling mural Les Oiseaux (1953) at the Louvre and related works in the Centre Pompidou, MoMA, and Tate Modern reveal a mature artist at peace, transforming simplicity into spiritual beauty.
